6 Days Uganda safari takes you to 3 destinations including Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Spending 6 days exploring these destinations allows you to engage in chimpanzee tracking, Bigodi Wetland guided nature walk, game drive, boat cruise, and gorilla trekking.
Kibale National Park is home to 13 species of primates and they include l’hoest monkeys, pottos, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, bush babies, grey-cheeked mangabey monkeys, vervet monkeys, olive baboons, and over 1500 chimpanzees. These share the same habitat with over 375 bird species including the black-headed gonoleks, black bee-eaters, black-capped apalis, Abyssinian ground thrush, crowned eagle, and more. During your chimpanzee tracking adventure in Kibale, expect to explore some of these species in addition to chimpanzee encounters.
Bigodi Wetland will be explored on a guided nature walk. This rich wetland area is home to different faunal and floral species. It features primates such as blue monkeys, olive baboons, l’hoest monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, mangabey, plus other mammals such as bushbucks, warthogs, civet cats, sitatunga, bush pigs, and otters.
Bigodi area provides refuge to over 138 bird species including the yellow-spotted barbets, white-spotted fluff tail, superb sunbird, black bishops, black-crowned waxbill, western nicator, brown-crowned tchagra, and others.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is home 4 of the Big 5 game (elephants, buffaloes, lions plus the tree climbing lions, leopards). Bwindi is where over 459 mountain gorillas survive from and currently, there are more than 23 habituated gorilla groups to be explored.

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park via Mityana

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park via Mityana
Start your day with a delicious breakfast and after, you will meet your driver for a short briefing about your special 6 days Uganda safari. Today, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to Kibale via Mityana-Mubende-Fort Portal Tourism City. Getting to Kibale will take 5-6 hours and expect to have a delicious lunch en route in Fort Portal.
After lunch, you will head to the lodge in Kibale. Today, you may consider visiting Bigodi Wetland located just outside Kibale National Park (optional) or simply have a relaxed moment in the lodge.

Day 2: Enjoy a guided chimpanzee trekking experience & Queen Elizabeth Park
Breakfast will be enjoyed early in the morning and after, you will connect to Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for briefing. The briefing allows you to get insight into guidelines for chimpanzee tracking. After briefing, expect to begin your trek through Kibale in search for chimpanzees.
The chimpanzee trek will go for 2-4 hours and includes an hour of observing how chimpanzees behave. While on a chimpanzee trek, you will also come across other primates and birds that survive in Kibale National Park.
Return from the chimp trek and you will proceed to the lodge. At the lodge, you will have lunch and later, check out ready to drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route to Queen Elizabeth National Park, expect to make a stopover at the Equator crossing. You will have a long evening to chill in your respective accommodation.

Day 3: Game drive and boat cruise
Have a delicious cup of tea or coffee and after, you will head off for a guided game drive through Kasenyi wildlife track. On Kasenyi game track, expect to search for different animals that freely roam around this area including buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda Kobs, warthogs, and bird species.
A game drive through Kasenyi will go for 2-3 hours and after, you will get back to chill in your respective lodges. Later, proceed to Kazinga Channel for boat cruise excursion. On Kazinga Channel launch cruise, expect to enjoy sights of aquatic life including crocodiles, hippos, and water birds. You will get back and have the rest of the evening in your respective accommodation facility.

Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Park to Bwindi; Ishasha game drive
A hefty breakfast will be enjoyed in your respective lodge and after, check out. Today, you will drive towards the Southern end of Queen Elizabeth National Park and expect to engage in a game drive through Ishasha sector. The Ishasha sector game drive allows you search for the tree climbing lions, buffaloes, topis, and many bird species.
After the guided game drive through Ishasha, expect to connect to Bwindi National Park for relaxation in your respective lodges.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Enjoy a hefty breakfast and ensure that everything is available for your gorilla trekking adventure. Leave your lodge for briefing and you will also be assigned a habituated gorilla group. Each gorilla group in Bwindi is visited by a maximum of 8 (eight) guests and expect to be led by an experienced guide. The entire gorilla trek will go for 2-6 hours depending on how fast you will walk through the forest and where the gorilla group can be found.
After the gorilla trek, expect to return to get your certificate and then you will proceed to the lodge to chill. You will again exit your lodge and today’s afternoon will be mainly for you to visit the Batwa pygmies.

Day 6: Departure from Bwindi National Park for Kampala or Entebbe
Following a delicious breakfast, you will check out of your respective lodges and today, you will drive back to Entebbe or Kampala. This will bring to an end the 6 days Uganda safari tour.
