The best time to go for the Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru tour

Kenya is an open destination all year around but is best explored during the peak dry season. The two important dry season phases to consider when planning your Kenya safari include January to February and July to September. These are the perfect months of the year to visit most of the destinations in Kenya to explore wildlife including Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara National Reserve.

June to October is a perfect short dry season for witnessing the Great Migration in Masai Mara Reserve. The rest of the months mark the rainy or wet season with the longest being March, April, to May. It is around these months when most parks experience heavy rains with fewer crowds.

Other destinations to visit in Kenya

Beyond Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara Reserve, Kenya safaris also offer visitors a chance to explore other sites. Additional places to visit include Amboseli National Park, Aberdare National Park, Mount Kenya National Park, Samburu National Park/Reserve, Nairobi National Park, and others.

Additional safari activities to do

Visitors can also incorporate other experiences to spice their 4 days Nakuru & Masai Mara tour. These include hot air balloon safaris, bush or nature walks, cultural visits to the nearby local community, especially the Maasai village; camping safaris, night game drives, and others.
