7 Days Uganda safari holiday offering mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park, chimpanzee tracking and wildlife safari in Queen Elizabeth national park. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel

On arrival at the Entebbe Airport, expect to meet your driver guide and be transferred to a comfortable hotel in Kampala for relaxation. A short briefing will be conducted by one of our company representatives and then you will have the rest of the evening chilling in the hotel.

Day 2: Kampala to Kibale National Park

Transfer to Kibale National Park by road and expect to spend between 5 and 6 hours. You will access the park on the Kampala-Mityana-Mubende route and expect to make a stopover at Fort Portal for lunch then proceed to Kibale National Park.

Kibale National Park is situated in western Uganda and is largely a rainforest protected area. The park is 795 sq. km and protects over 13 primate species which include the red colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, and baboons, etc. Kibale National Park also provides refuge to over 375 bird species including the unique African green breasted pitta.

Early arrival may include Bigodi Wetland walk. On a guided Bigodi wetland walk, expect to explore myriad of primates, birds, and other species.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking & drive to Queen Elizabeth Park

Have breakfast and after, proceed for briefing at Kanyanchu Visitor Centre. Get to know the chimpanzee tracking rules and regulations. The chimpanzee trek will last for 2-4 hours and guarantees you absolute one hour for photography and magical encounter with chimpanzees upon finding them.

Kibale chimp trek also comes with encounters of other primates such as olive baboons, red tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, and others. You may also get a chance to spot many bird species that dwell in the lush Kibale Forest.

After the chimp trek, expect to have lunch in your lodges and then check out. Today’s afternoon will be for you to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the scenic Crater Lake dominated areas. Drive via Kasese town and at Kikorongo, expect to have a photography moment at the Equator crossing.

Day 4: Game drive and launch cruise

Expect to embark on a guided game drive in the morning which will last for 2 hours. On a game drive, you will be searching for different wildlife along the Kasenyi plains. The notable wildlife to find along the Kasenyi plains include elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, warthogs, and countless antelope families as well as spotted hyenas.

Get back and you will be provided lunch in your respective lodges. Relax a little and proceed for the afternoon boat or launch cruise for 2 hours on the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise includes spotting aquatic life species such as hippos, crocodiles, and water birds.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth Park to Bwindi by road

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and after, depart from Queen Elizabeth National Park for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Before crossing to Bwindi, you will have a short game viewing excursion at Ishasha area and this involves searching for the tree climbing lions and other wildlife. You will also have a delicious bush lunch break then continue to Bwindi to check in your gorilla safari lodge.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking

Breakfast early morning and after, get briefed about gorilla trekking rules at Buhoma sector offices in Bwindi National Park. The briefing will also cover allocation of gorilla groups to visitors and park ranger guides to escort you. Each of the gorilla groups will be visited by a maximum of eight people and the entire adventure will run for 2-6 hours which includes an hour for up close and personal encounter as well as taking pictures.

After you have interacted with Bwindi gorillas in the wild, begin walking back to where you were briefed. Meet the park official to receive your gorilla trekking certificate and later, you will be dropped off to your respective gorilla safari lodges.

You will spend the afternoon interacting with the Batwa pygmies in their communities and expect to learn more about their unique traditions, cultures, and lifestyles. You shouldn’t miss the unique dances and music performance as showcased by the Batwa.

Day 7: Departure

A delicious breakfast to be enjoyed at leisure and after, check out of the lodge. After, begin driving back to Entebbe or Kampala City. It will take you between 8-9 hours to drive from Bwindi to Kampala/Entebbe with en route stopover expected at the lunch in Igongo Cultural Centre and Equator crossing in Kayabwe. Continue to Kampala/Entebbe where you will be dropped off to the hotel.
